February is the month of love, and what’s not to love about the serenity of the Blue Mountains? While it is an ideal place to pop the question or plan a romantic escape, love can be found or shared in many other ways. Whether you’re a foodie, an antique and quaint-atmosphere lover, bush walk fanatic, or interested in native flora and fauna; the Mountains is sure to make you fall in love.
Food in the Blue Mountains
There are many places that any foodie should visit in the Mountains. One such place would be Leura Garage, an award winning and locally-sourced cafe-restaurant-bar that will cater to whatever your hunger calls for.
Other places worthy of mention include:
- Mr Collins of Leura
- The Bunker – Cafe Bar Restaurant
- Darley’s Restaurant
- Pins on Lurline
- The Wayzgoose (for their infamous flowerpot scone!)
Antiquing in the Quaint Mountains
The Blue Mountains is a treasure trove for all things antique, classic, and eclectic. Browsing oddities and curious items often leads to discovering a treasure of your own. Try your luck at some of the many antique and vintage shops in the Mountains and perhaps fall in love with something special, a memento of your trip!
Breathtaking Bush Tracks
The trails (and indeed our properties) of the Blue Mountains have witnessed many proposals, and have hosted countless couples, friends, and families to lush scenery. We recommend these classic trails, ones which you can easily fall in love with:
- Three Sisters
- Katoomba Falls Round Walk
- Mount Banks Summit Walk
- Lapstone Zig Zag Walk
Mountain Flora and Fauna
If you live in the city, it’s always exciting to see the classic Australian wildlife that is much harder to come by at home. If you love photography or need an excuse to dust off the one in the garage, there’s plenty to capture in the Mountains.
Keep your eyes peeled whilst walking along a trail to try and spot a koala in the treetops, or stop by the Euroka Clearing in the National Park at Glenbrook or the Megalong Valley for a good chance to spot a kangaroo or wallaby. Perhaps you could even spot an elusive platypus, now that would be a rare treat to treasure!
Enjoy visits from an abundance of birdlife at each Mountain Whispers property. This can include Lorikeets, Rosellas, Lyrebirds, Bowerbirds, Wattle Birds, Scrub Wrens, King Parrots, and Cockatoos to name a few!
Not to mention the Australian natives will be in full bloom!
