There’s something for everyone in the Blue Mountains – whether you like adventure and adrenaline activities, visiting historic homes and art galleries, or walking through the Australian bush – escaping to the Blue Mountains is the perfect way to relax and rejuvenate.

Adventure and Adrenaline

Wine & Food Tours

The Blue Mountains food and wine scene is first-class.

TCP Day Tours offer food & wine tours, including ‘Farmgate’ and ‘Horse Riding with Wine Tasting’ tours – explore the Megalong Valley on horseback, before arriving at the cellar door of a boutique vineyard. Taste award-winning wines, enjoy a cheese platter and then make your way back to the stables. TCP will pick you up and return you to your accommodation.

If you want to do your own food and wine tour, there are several self-drive trails, including the Hawkesbury Harvest Farm Gate; you should also visit Josophan’s Chocolates in Leura and the Bilpin Cider cellar door.

Art and Antiques

Art galleries and artist studios abound in the Blue Mountains.

Visit the National Trust’s ‘Norman Lindsay Gallery and Museum’ at Faulconbridge, Falls Gallery at Wentworth Falls, or the Lost Bear and Nolan on Lovel Galleries in Katoomba, or join a TCP Blue Mountains Art Studio tour.  You’ll also find many stores within the region sell works by local artists.

For those who love antiques, there are a number of fascinating antique and vintage stores in the region, including Victory Theatre at Blackheath, Leura Vintage, and Peachtree Antiques and Mr Pickwick’s Fine Old Books in Katoomba.

History & Heritage

The Blue Mountains is steeped in history and heritage. The area’s first building was a military post at Springwood built between 1816-1817; and during the Edwardian and Art Deco eras, the Blue Mountains flourished as a location for rest and relaxation.

When you book your Blue Mountains retreat with us, talk to Lorraine about taking a private Vintage Tour.  These are ideal for couples or group bookings – so don your feather boa and fedora and be chauffeured around in a 1929 Cadillac. The tour includes historical commentary and places off the beaten track.

If you’d prefer to drive yourself, follow the Greater Blue Mountains Heritage Trail and visit Everglades Historic House and Gardens, Woodford Academy, Lone Pine Avenue or Kurrajong Village.

A Blue Mountains retreat isn’t complete without dining at the region’s restaurants. If you don’t feel like leaving your Mountain Whispers – “MW” Collection property, you can book our private chef to cook your favourite meal right at your accommodation.

There are a number of dining places to check out for a meal, including Leura Garage, Darley’s, Solitary, Silks and The Wintergarden at the Hydro Majestic. And stop in for a high tea at The Carrington, Lilianfels or Bygone Beauty’s.
