It’s been spoken about at length across the globe, on television screens, radio channels, in newspapers and social media. COVID restrictions have upset the travel applecart for many excited wanderers, and unfortunately, it looks like they are here to stay, at least for a while yet.
You would be forgiven for feeling fatigued at trying to keep up to date with estimated time frames, border opening and overseas travel agreements. It has been exhausting for everyone, and like many others, I’m sure you’ve been left with incredibly itchy feet.
The problem is, that Christmas is now only just around the corner. A time that would usually see so many families come together has now transformed into a mad dash to try to figure out a suitable Plan B for the arrival of the Man in the Big, Red Suit. Families from interstate are looking at a potential festive season without one another, while those with loved ones overseas are feeling the pinch as Facetime and Zoom no longer cut it.
If you are lucky enough to have your family all reside within NSW, and now finally Queensland, the plight ahead of you should be much, much easier. Being allowed to travel freely within our state means we can still gather the family around the buzzing Christmas lunch table, and more excitedly, we can travel together too.
If your family is spread across the state, perhaps a location Christmas this year will save on travel time for some, and the stress of hosting at home for others. Our private, luxury accommodation boasts a range of configurations suitable for making even the biggest of families feel comfortable. If you’ve got a large, extended family, we often recommend booking several of our cottages that are within close proximity to each other, to ensure everyone is able to come together, while still adhering to COVID-safe restrictions. Our cottages very quickly become your home away from home, and many families for many years have utilized our facilities to conjure up Christmas memories that will last a lifetime.
For those missing the countdown to the grandkids visiting or for those feeling a little lost without the ‘to do’ list that usually grows rapidly at this time of year, we feel for you. If you feel like a little self-kindness and a shake-up of routine might help you to enjoy this Christmas rather than endure it, please do get in touch. We promise to recreate the magic of the festive season for you, even though this year may look a lot different to what you are used to.
However different your Christmas is going to turn out this year, please know that our heart goes out to you, and we as always, send our Christmas cheer to all of our guests, past, present and future. If we can help you in any way to feel special and spoiled over the holiday season, it would be our absolute pleasure.
